Physiotherapist for Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physiotherapist to join our team, working with adults with learning disabilities in a community setting. As a Physiotherapist for Learning Disabilities, you will be responsible for assessing and treating individuals with complex health needs, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with learning disabilities, identifying their physical and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and taking into account the person's preferences and goals.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide education and support to individuals, their families, and caregivers on physical activity, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, share knowledge, and develop strategies for improving care.
- Postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy (BSc Physio) or equivalent.
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities, preferably in a community setting.
- Strong understanding of complex health needs, autonomous caseload management, and multidisciplinary team working.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of ability.
- Proficiency in using IT systems and software, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
