CK Group is seeking a Method Development Scientist to join their forensic testing organisation in Warrington, UK, on a permanent basis. This role involves working within the Toxicology Research and Development Team to carry out method development and validation projects under the guidance of the R&D Lead Analytical Toxicologist.

Main duties include:

  • Developing, validating, and implementing new methods in line with ISO 17025 (2017) and the Forensic Science Regulator's Codes of Practice & Conduct.
  • Drawing up validation protocols and producing validation reports in compliance with the Quality Management System.
  • Technical evaluation and refinement of existing processes and development of more efficient and robust methods.
  • Supporting investigations into Quality Control trends when required.
  • Advising on and carrying out quality investigations.
  • Delivering training to the Toxicology analytical team when required.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of drug extraction techniques, notably LLE and SPE, as well as a thorough understanding of immunoassay and chromatographic techniques such as ELISA, HS-GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and HPLC-DAD.

A salary of around £40,000 - £55,000 per annum is estimated for this role, depending on experience.
