Job Opportunity:
This is a fantastic chance to develop and grow within a well-established company. As a successful individual, you will have the opportunity to work for a renowned employer and become a multi-disciplined engineer over the course of three years.
The role will involve working alongside a lead engineer, learning and developing in the field of fire and security. This is a field-based position, and each day will be different; the role will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire and security systems.
You will work on various projects, such as CCTV, door access control, or fire/intruder alarms.
This position is full-time, with block training release to a training centre. The apprentice will work across both Security and Fire and, as a result, will grow to become a multi-disciplined engineer.
Key Requirements:
Desirable Skills and Qualities:
- A clean background and ability to pass a background check.
- A valid UK driver's license or reliable commuting options.
- A willingness to complete a trial shift in addition to a successful interview.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- A willingness to learn and proactive attitude.
- Great timekeeping skills.
- Comfortable working at high and low height.
- Basic electrical and power tool knowledge would be advantageous.
Training and Development:
The training will be provided in block release format. You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies. You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company requires you to complete. The employer will mentor and coach you on the job.
Important Considerations:
The apprenticeship is 36 months, and therefore, full commitment is needed throughout the duration of your studies. Standard hours are 8am - 5pm, but this may vary depending on workload.
Future Career Prospects:
To become an independent and able engineer within the business.
Working week: Monday - Friday
Apprenticeship standard: Fire emergency and security systems technician (Level 3)
