Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Assistant to join our team at Eton College. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Buildings department in the routine maintenance of the College's buildings and facilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople in carrying out work in College properties to a high standard;
  • Carry out removal works, setting up rooms, and moving equipment;
  • Perform labouring duties in the workshop and College properties;
  • Drive a van as required;
  • Complete timesheets and records to show completed work;
  • Adhere to health and safety legislation and best practice in accordance with the College Health and Safety policy statement;
  • Ensure own safety and the safety of others affected by actions;
  • Assist other trades within the post holder's competence and experience;
  • Carry out duties as required by management;
  • Commit to equality, diversity, and inclusion;
  • Understand and comply with safeguarding procedures and confidentiality requirements.

Working Pattern

  • 37.5 hours per week, with hours discussed with Line Manager;
  • 52 weeks per year;
  • 21 days of holiday.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience of labouring work;
  • Valid UK driving licence;
  • General knowledge of building trades;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with College staff;
  • Good sense of initiative.
