We are working at Gregory House, a Learning Disability and Autism service, providing care and support to 22 adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental Health needs. Our team helps provide a specialist provision.
">About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cook to join our food service team as a Bank Cook. As a valued member of our staff bank, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that align with your schedule, ensuring a great work-life balance.
You will play a vital part in preparing daily meals for service users, staff, and visitors, taking into account special requests or dietary requirements within the unit.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established protocols.
- Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking into account special requests or dietary requirements within the unit.
- Serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Prepare and produce foods for conferences and banquets.
- Participate in cost-effective food management through effective cost control procedures.
- Adhere to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record-keeping practices.
- Comply with Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety protocols at all times.
- Take full responsibility for the catering operation during your shift.
- Accurately complete paperwork related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP), including fridge temperatures, food temperature logs, and cleaning schedules.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You should hold GCSE or equivalent English qualifications.
- You should possess City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking certification.
- You should have basic food hygiene knowledge.
- You should have experience preparing and producing high-quality food.
- You should have knowledge of menu planning and costing.
- An hourly rate of £13.07, plus holiday allowance uplift.
