Job Title: Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Maternity Leave Cover

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to cover a maternity leave position in our Adarna Ward, a 15-bed rehabilitation service for men with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of the complex client group within an in-patient setting.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess, advise, and intervene to promote functional communication systems and optimal independence.
  • Train others, promote good practice, and maintain a successful total communication environment.
  • Screen, assess, and manage eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.

Requirements:

  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).
  • Experience in adult mental health and/or ASD.
  • Dysphagia qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Passionate about student education.
