Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Southwark Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality support to adults with learning disabilities.

About the Role

\

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to assist in the delivery of occupational therapy interventions, including caseload management, programme implementation, and coordination of team activities. You will work in a variety of community settings, including service users' homes, day care centers, and residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities

\
  • Manage a caseload of adults with learning disabilities delegated by the occupational therapy team
  • Implement and progress occupational therapy programmes delegated by the occupational therapy team
  • Work with service users in a range of community settings, including their home, day care, residential or other settings as appropriate
  • Assist in the organisation and coordination of the occupational therapy teams' activities
  • Support the occupational therapy team in carrying out general administrative tasks and undertake appropriate additional duties

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with complex communication needs. You should also have proficient telephone communication skills to liaise with service users and their care network. A strong team ethos and commitment to personal and professional development are essential.
