About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment for patients with complex presentations of pelvic floor dysfunction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Clinical Specialist, providing specialist assessment and treatment for male and female patients with complex presentations of pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills when treating complex patients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Conduct internal vaginal and anorectal examinations, using evidence-based principles and current best practice to assess, plan, and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
  • Assist the Clinical Team Lead, Specialist Nurses, and pelvic health physiotherapists in the day-to-day running of clinics, attending multidisciplinary meetings and contributing to service development and improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and promotion of the service within primary and secondary care settings, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and agencies to ensure integrated and high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Supervise, educate, and support junior staff, assistants, and external students on placement, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.

Person Specification
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist with experience working within the NHS.
  • Experience of working in Pelvic Health, with a strong understanding of the complexities of pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a high degree of independence and self-motivation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
