Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at HMP Altcourse. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in supervising and coaching prisoners in the production of meals, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coach prisoners in food production and cooking
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Oversee cleaning procedures and stock rotation
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Work collaboratively with prisoners to achieve kitchen goals
Requirements
  • City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 in food production and cooking
  • Industrial catering experience desirable but not necessary
  • Ability to instruct and support people with challenging behavior
  • Experience in a prison or forces environment desirable but not necessary
