Job Description

Cambian Education is a specialist provision that provides relevant, positive and high-quality educational experiences and support for children and young people aged 11 to 19 with ongoing social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who will play a vital role in supporting our students in both the classroom and off-site. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to plan learning activities, supervise students, and provide individualized support to promote their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students to help them access the national curriculum.
  • Monitor student progress, identify areas of need, and develop strategies to address these challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.

Requirements:

  • A strong commitment to providing educational guidance and support to students with SEMH difficulties.
  • An ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH difficulties (desirable).
  • A willingness to participate in training and professional development opportunities.
