Job Title: Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will work closely with pupils with special educational needs, providing support and assistance to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist pupils with special educational needs in a supportive and inclusive environment
  2. Help pupils develop essential skills and knowledge to succeed in their academic and personal goals
  3. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to provide a comprehensive and tailored support program for each pupil
  4. Engage with pupils in a variety of activities, including physical activities and communication skills development
  5. Support pupils in managing their personal care and daily routines
  6. Develop and maintain effective relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  7. Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
