Job Title: Assistant General Manager

As a key member of the Sodexo team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food and beverage operations, as well as financial management, in our school's kitchen. Your leadership skills and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining a vibrant and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend all hospitality meetings to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Generate and record all charges for ad hoc services, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Enter hospitality events into both the catering diary and electronic calendar, ensuring timely and efficient planning.
  • Set up and serve at all hospitality events, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Liaise with the catering manager and head chef to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Input invoices and stock into the Sodexo computerized accounting system, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Input Kronos information into the Sodexo computerized system, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Take notes at food forums, disciplinary, grievance, and investigation meetings as requested.
  • Complete filing, shredding, and photocopying in a timely manner, maintaining a organized and efficient workspace.
  • Ensure all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly for customers with special dietary requirements.
  • Complete all administration tasks in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.
  • Complete all required paperwork correctly, legibly, and in a timely manner, with due consideration for confidentiality and output.
  • Attend training sessions relevant to the post, ensuring ongoing professional development.
  • Undertake any reasonable requests made by management to maintain the overall service standard.
  • Ensure confidentiality and timelines are adhered to, maintaining a professional and respectful work environment.
  • Deputize in the catering manager's absence, covering sickness and holidays.
  • Communicate with suppliers relevant to hospitality to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Take part in lunch service, serving customers during busy periods.
  • Previous staff supervision or line management experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment is crucial.
  • Hold basic food handling skills certification, including NVQ Level 2 and Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.

Package Description:

  • £15.16 per hour.
  • 40 hours per week.
