About the Role

Cherington is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Teacher to join our team at a thriving Academy in Croydon, South London. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering a broad and balanced Science curriculum to students, monitoring their progress, and contributing to the overall development of the Science department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging Science lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement schemes of work, share best practices, and support the growth of the Science department.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on curriculum requirements.
Requirements
  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree in Science.
  • Proven teaching experience at secondary level, preferably in multi-ethnic urban schools and 11-18 settings.
  • Strong understanding of National Curriculum requirements, lesson planning, resource development, and student assessment.
