Project Manager - General Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to report directly to the MD and oversee numerous projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the projects, from inception to completion, ensuring they meet client requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and oversee project progress, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  3. Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  4. Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
  5. Monitor and report on project costs, turnover, and profit versus budget.
  6. Manage project variations, changes to deliverables, and update projected costs accordingly.
  7. Conduct site visits for pre-quote surveys, progress monitoring, and compliance audits.
  8. Guide and mentor junior engineers in project management methods.
  9. Ensure familiarity with client and company HSEQ policies and procedures.
  10. Plan, organise, and document client work processes to meet required standards with minimal risk.
  11. Provide clear instructions to company personnel and subcontractors to implement safe working methods and maintain communication lines.
  12. Act immediately on any breaches of company rules and report to line management as required.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Engineering.
  2. APM Project Management Qualification or Prince 2 or equivalent (desirable).
  3. Proficient in IT, including MS Project, Excel, and Word.
  4. Qualified in Engineering either degree or Apprentice trained.
  5. Experience with offshore/port cranes and lifting - desirable.
  6. Thorough understanding of HSEQ requirements in oil & gas, renewables, ports, and marine environments - desirable.
