About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team at NHS Lothian, delivering high-quality pharmacy and medicines services across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical pharmacy specialist to shape the implementation and development of a redesigned service, working closely with colleagues in medicines governance to progress clinically effective prescribing within NHS Lothian.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on medicines information and governance to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a redesigned medicines information service, aligned with local and national strategies
  • Work independently in clinical practice, applying learnings to inform service improvement and ensure relevance to today's prescribing practices
  • Collaborate with colleagues across community pharmacy, primary and secondary care to ensure robust enquiry answering and post-marketing adverse drug reaction reporting
Requirements
  • Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or similar subject
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Proven organisational skills and a systematic approach to decision making
  • Personal commitment to continuing professional development and a dynamic, innovative approach to service improvement
