Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, utilizing effective teaching strategies.
  • Lead small group sessions and whole-class activities as needed, promoting student participation and understanding.
  • Provide targeted support to students, including those with additional learning needs, to facilitate their academic growth.
  • Assist in the assessment of students' progress and offer constructive feedback to inform future instruction.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized learning plans, tailoring support to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Mentor and guide other teaching assistants and support staff, promoting a culture of collaboration and shared knowledge.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of school events and activities, fostering a sense of community and student engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification is essential for this role.
  • Proven experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and support staff.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning, staying up-to-date with best practices in education.
  • A positive, energetic, and flexible approach to work, with a focus on supporting the academic and personal growth of students.
