Job Title: Procurement Strategist

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team at Pennguin. As a Procurement Strategist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of fast-moving consumer goods, ensuring optimal inventory levels and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and the ability to drive strategic procurement decisions to support our growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best value
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance

Procurement Planning
• Forecast purchasing needs based on sales trends and demand planning
• Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with company objectives
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking

Market Analysis
• Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities
• Analyze price fluctuations, supply chain risks, and alternative sourcing opportunities
• Recommend strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and cost increases

Cost Optimization
• Ensure procurement activities align with budgetary constraints
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service

Data Management and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements
• Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, inventory turnover, and cost analyses
• Utilize data to provide insights and support strategic decisions

Requirements
• CIPS qualified would be ideal but not required
• Proven experience of 3+ years as a buyer or in procurement within the FMCG industry
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory management principles
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

The estimated salary for this role is £40,000+ per annum.
