Fiscal Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Technician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Fiscal Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Process and reconcile financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and credit card statements.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in our automated financial management system.
  • Assist with special projects, including financial reporting and analysis.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of financial software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Cardinal or similar automated financial management systems.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and government accounting principles.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
