The Nigel Wright Group is seeking a skilled Warehouse Operations Lead to support the existing team in a period of change and growth. Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, this role is a great opportunity for someone with people management skills who thrives in a fast-paced busy warehouse environment.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership to the Warehouse function daily, setting requirements, targets, and expectations of the Warehouse team. You will be the representative of the warehouse function within the wider business, forming part of a close-knit, team-oriented department. Some of the key accountabilities include:
- Ensuring all Finished Product is dispatched to the customer in a timely manner, respecting customer order dates and specific requirements.
- Developing and preparing a Distribution Plan that considers customer needs while focusing on maximizing processes and aligning loading to Warehouse capacity.
- Driving the success of the Distribution plans by challenging internal departments to complete all necessary transactions before stock is due to leave site.
- Maximizing the loading of transport and working closely with key freight forwarders to devise a method of maintaining a high TOR and reducing costs to the business.
- Being the focal point of the business in dealing with freight forwarders, organizing transport, and dealing with any issues arising from distribution complaints.
- Taking responsibility for the loading accuracy and load integrity when leaving site to reduce the number of customer complaints.
- Being an active participant of the warehouse operations team and driving forward operational efficiency projects through management of the team and priorities.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced warehouse professional with proven skills in people management, along with the following skills and attributes:
- The ability to make firm and responsible decisions and to be able to communicate clearly with personnel at all levels.
- Prior knowledge of Logistics procedures and processes.
- Team management experience.
- A proactive and positive mindset.
