Credit Risk Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join our team at Britannia Global Markets Limited.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing the credit risk exposure of our clients and counterparties. This will involve analysing financial data, evaluating client creditworthiness, and recommending limits to support business growth while minimising risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit evaluations of clients and counterparties, including financial statement analysis and qualitative assessments.
- Perform due diligence on new and existing clients, assessing their creditworthiness and ability to meet margin requirements.
- Assign internal credit ratings and recommend credit or trading limits for clients and counterparties.
- Monitor and track the credit exposures of clients, ensuring compliance with established limits.
- Generate regular risk reports and provide insights to senior management on emerging risks or areas of concern.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Support Functions to ensure proper documentation and implementation of risk controls.
- Enhance and maintain the current internal credit scoring model, including building default models.
- Liaise with regulators and auditors as necessary to ensure compliance with risk management standards.
- Assist in the development and improvement of internal risk policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in credit risk analysis, preferably in the brokerage, investment, or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and stress testing.
- Experience with credit risk modelling tools, financial software, and risk management systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
