Compliance Officer UK and Ireland

Allianz Trade, a global leader in credit insurance and credit management, is seeking a Compliance Officer to join our Canary Wharf office. Reporting to the Head of Compliance Northern Europe, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive regulatory advice to all Allianz Trade operations in the UK and Ireland and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and Allianz requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain detailed awareness of regulatory developments and changes in the wider financial marketplace to provide expert advice to the business on applicable rules and regulations.
  2. Support other regulatory projects across the Allianz Trade Group.
  3. Review and assess the impact of regulatory developments affecting the business and assist in implementing necessary changes to policies, procedures, processes, and systems.
  4. Manage the business relationship with the PRA and FCA.
  5. Align with the Chief Compliance Officer relating to the company's main regulator.
  6. Liaise with senior management to promote a culture of integrity and compliance throughout the business.
  7. Investigate escalated complaints and deal with the FOS.
  8. Organise remedial action to address identified gaps in compliance controls.
  9. Promote awareness among management and employees of compliance matters.


Requirements:

  1. In-depth practical knowledge and understanding of financial services law and regulation impacting B2B insurance activities in the UK and Ireland.
  2. Sufficient seniority, gravitas, and experience to persuade and influence senior management and business personnel.
  3. Professional experience in the financial sector in a compliance function or in regulatory enforcement and experience in a sizeable organization in the financial sector as a compliance officer.
  4. Very good understanding of the insurance business, complex financial transactions, and ideally of Allianz Trade.
  5. Client service mentality, quality-focused, and results-oriented.
  6. Ability to work well independently and produce coherent decisions/results.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, and function as part of a team.
  8. Fluency in English (oral and written).
  9. Masters degree in business administration, economics, or legal.
  10. Project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects in parallel.
