U-educate is seeking a skilled Pastoral Support specialist to join our team in secondary schools based in Portsmouth. As a Pastoral Support specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the senior leadership team to manage student behaviour throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a role model for students and staff, demonstrating high-quality pastoral care and support.
  • Work in an 'on-call' capacity to ensure students are in their lessons and provide support to classroom teachers as needed.
  • Remove students from lessons into the internal isolation unit when necessary.
  • Implement and monitor behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to school-wide knowledge and skills in behaviour management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with KS3 and KS4 students.
  • A positive and committed individual who can take responsibility for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children throughout the school day.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (U-educate offers free courses for those without a current certificate).
