Treasury & VAT Accountant Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Treasury & VAT Accountant to join a well-established Public Sector organisation on a permanent full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective financial controls and processes.
  • Pull the VAT return together, analyse and interrogate this as appropriate.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Analyse financial data, identify trends and variances and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Complete daily payments to the bank.
  • Work closely with financial advisors.
Requirements:
  • A recognised accountancy qualification / part qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE.
  • Extensive knowledge around treasury activating and placing funds.
  • Money market knowledge.
  • Previous public sector experience.
  • Experience of applying technical accounting knowledge as part of financial management practices.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
