Support a Teacher in Delivering Classwork and Enhancing Student Engagement

We are seeking an experienced Academic Support Specialist to support a teacher in delivering classwork and enhancing student engagement in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the teacher in delivering classwork and supporting students during lessons, promoting academic achievement and social growth.
  • Provide one-on-one support to pupils, helping them with their classwork, reading, and writing skills, and developing their confidence and motivation.
  • Lead small group interventions to support students in areas of development, fostering a love of learning and improving their overall academic performance.
  • Observe and contribute to the assessment of pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to maintaining a well-organized and supportive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and encouraging active participation.

  • Applicant Specification:
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification, demonstrating your knowledge and understanding of educational principles and practices.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable, but not essential, as we provide comprehensive training and support.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an advantage, but not required, as we value diversity and inclusivity.
  • A supportive, friendly, and enthusiastic personality, essential for building strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and colleagues.
