Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team at First Recruitment Group. As an Electrical and Testing Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting a variety of equipment, including Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment and items manufactured to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Inspection Scope:
    • Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
    • Industry Knowledge:
      • Good understanding of UK inspection requirements within the nuclear industry or relevant experience from other high-hazard industries.
    • Standards and Codes:
      • Ability to understand or quickly learn nuclear and conventional codes and standards related to the inspection of electrical equipment in high-hazard environments.
    • Self-Motivation:
      • Proactive and self-motivated approach to both technical and non-technical tasks.
    • Stakeholder Management:
      • Experience in managing a range of stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate in technical discussions related to inspection.
    • Communication Skills:
      • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
    • Quality Management:
      • Good working knowledge of customer quality requirements and the application of ISO 9001 standards.
    • Manufacturing Processes:
      • Understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or:
    • Completion of a full electrical apprenticeship along with C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection certification.
  • Regulations and Standards:
    • Proficiency in 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations.
    • Possession of a CSCS Card or an equivalent Safety Passport.
