About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology to join our dynamic team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our gastroenterology service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based care for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including endoscopy and ERCP procedures.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and lead a subspecialty interest in gastroenterology, such as nutrition or IBD.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage complex cases and improve patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of our gastroenterology service, including quality improvement initiatives and education programs.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Fully registered with the GMC and on the GMC Specialist Register in Gastroenterology.
  • MRCP (UK)/MRCP (Gastroenterology) or equivalent.
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Gastroenterology.
  • Expertise in full range of gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
