Are you a dedicated mental health professional looking to advance your career in prison healthcare? We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team at HMP Oakwood.

About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding role will involve providing high-quality nursing care to some of society's most vulnerable members, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive interventions. You will have the opportunity to influence and shape the provision of mental health care within the prison setting.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide specialist interventions for individuals with mental health problems, utilizing techniques such as CBT and motivational interviewing.
  2. Assess people's needs to develop, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans.
  3. Identify individuals requiring hospital treatment and facilitate timely transfer under the Mental Health Act.
  4. Line manage Band 5 nurses where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Registered MH Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register.
  • Evidence of recent CPD and compliance with NMC revalidation.
  • Teaching Certificate including annual update (ENB 603) or related mentoring/coaching qualification.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £38,000 - £44,000 per annum, depending on experience.
