Project Manager Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Oxford. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering medium to large-sized Life Science and Tertiary Education related projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the delivery of Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
  • Provide effective support to Assistant/Graduate Project Managers.
  • Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team.
  • Identify and act upon business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities.
  • Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing).
  • Provide leadership within the project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team.
  • Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training.
  • Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and sign off on all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue.
  • Win clients through strong business development skills.
  • Manage tender documents, appraisals, and negotiations.
Requirements:
  • Experience of successfully delivering construction projects.
  • Experience of working in or managing multi-site operations.
  • Good Health, Education, and/or Science experience.
  • Experience in a number of project management roles.
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Good design management experience inclusive of C-Sheet approvals.
  • Good contractor management experience.
  • Experience of working with stakeholders/clients to produce Strategic Development Briefs and Client/User requirements.
  • Experience of working as part of complex, multi-disciplinary/multi-agency Project Teams.
  • Prince or MSP experience.
  • General understanding of construction contracts.
  • Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Life Science and Tertiary Education sector (including current issues and business drivers) and local construction market.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts JCT/NEC contracts.
  • Excellent understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Qualification – ideally Project Management/Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Master's Degree.
  • Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, or other equivalent institution.
  • APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation).
