Academic Lead

Ambitious educational professionals are sought to lead the delivery of our Social Sciences curriculum in a Good Mainstream School. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher looking to take their teaching career to the next level, leveraging their expertise in Sociology and Psychology to inspire students at KS4 and KS5.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to different ability levels, tracking student progress, and fostering a positive classroom environment. They will also contribute to curriculum development initiatives and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach Sociology and Psychology to students at KS4 and KS5 (GCSE and A-Level)
• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students
• Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies and departmental goals
• Support curriculum development initiatives and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Degree in Social Science, Sociology, Psychology, or a related discipline
• Experience teaching Sociology and/or Psychology at KS4 and KS5 (GCSE and A-Level)
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and engage students
• Commitment to the school's ethos of continuous improvement and student success
Salary and Benefits
