Nursery Deputy Manager

Nurse Seekers is proud to be working with a private day nursery based near Reading to find an exceptional Deputy Manager. As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for leading by example, promoting high standards of childcare, and supporting the manager in achieving the nursery's goals.

Essentials
  1. Level 3 Qualification or above in Early Years.
  2. Significant experience of leading in a nursery.
  3. Minimum of a Level 2 Qualification in Maths and English.
  4. Demonstrable experience of successfully managing change and improvement in a nursery setting.
  5. Significant nursery experience of managing a team of staff in a nursery setting.
  6. Detailed knowledge of safeguarding children, procedures, and promotion of children.
  7. First aid trained or willing to become so.
Key Responsibilities
  1. To promote the aims and objectives of the nursery, ensuring high standards are maintained.
  2. Oversee the quality of childcare provided.
  3. Undertake time in the nursery rooms as a role model.
  4. Build strong relationships with parents and staff.
  5. Provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring education environment for children.
  6. To undertake other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined by the nursery manager.
  7. To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
  8. To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children.
  9. To assist the manager in the supervision of training of students and volunteers in placement within the nursery.
  10. To ensure the provision of high standards of physical and emotional care.
  11. To be responsible for implementing and monitoring systems of observation to enable children's progress and achievements to be regularly and effectively assessed and recorded.
  12. To be involved in monthly staff meetings, planning meetings, parents' evenings, fundraising events, and training sessions outside working hours, as required.
  13. To assist in leading a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times.
  14. Perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Manager.
  15. To ensure confidentiality of all information received.
  16. To monitor and take responsibility for the Health and Safety standards within the nursery.
  17. To monitor and take responsibility for Equality and Diversity within teaching and learning.
  18. Participate in appraisal and professional development as appropriate.
  19. To deputise for the manager in their absence.
