Job Summary:
Astute People is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the day-to-day operations of our anaerobic digestion plant in Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant, while also driving business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Team Management: Manage and develop a high-performing site operations team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure the team is equipped to meet business objectives.
- Feedstock Management: Ensure the effective management of feedstock, including procurement, storage, and handling.
- Cost Control: Manage site P&L and control budget expenditure, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Performance Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant operations, ensuring cost-effective performance and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Health and Safety: Ensure the plant operates in a safe and healthy environment, with a strong focus on risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree, HNC, or apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
- Qualifications: Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH/NEBOSH, and ideally WAMITAB COTC Level 4 certification.
- Experience: Managerial or supervisory experience in anaerobic digestion or related sectors (e.g., Energy from Waste, Water Treatment).
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with a hands-on approach and a passion for continuous improvement.
