Job Description

As a key member of the Intel Programmable Solutions Group, we are seeking a highly skilled External Memory Interfaces Applications Engineer to join our European Applications Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with field engineering and customer design teams to design, implement, and verify External Memory Interfaces in high-performance FPGAs using Intel and third-party design software.
  • Perform design evaluations and recommend strategies to implement and optimize designs for important design opportunities.
  • Develop technical collateral, including reference designs and presentations, to demonstrate Altera products for both internal and external audiences.
  • Evaluate new software/IP and provide feedback to developers to improve the quality of Intel tools, IP, and methodologies.
  • Anticipate future customer requirements and contribute to product planning and definition of product enhancements.
  • Develop designs for next-generation memory IPs, including DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR4, LPDDR5, QDR-IV, and High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM2).
  • Evaluate new features, perform corner-case testing, and demonstrate performance to key European customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and validation, and provide feedback to engineering on memory IP quality and customer experience.
Requirements:
  • BS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of FPGA or ASIC design experience.
  • Experience with FPGA and/or ASIC VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog coding, validation, and/or simulation/verification tools.
  • Advanced English.
Preferred Experience:
  • Design experience using FPGAs with high-performance External Memory Interface controllers and protocols, including DDR3/DDR4 SDRAM and/or QDR-IV SRAM.
  • Experience in high-speed digital signal integrity board design and signal behavior.
  • Use of modern laboratory equipment, such as high-speed oscilloscopes and memory software packages.
