Teaching Personnel is seeking a skilled Functional Skills Tutor to support students in the Redcar and Cleveland area. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping individuals develop their functional skills in English and Maths.

The students we support at Teaching Personnel often face various challenges, including behavioural issues, SEN, and being looked after. Our goal is to equip these students with the skills they need to succeed in life.

This role involves:

  • Designing and delivering high-quality, engaging 1-1 and group-based functional skills sessions to learners.
  • Assessing the children's progress and providing constructive feedback to facilitate their learning and development.
  • Identifying individual learner needs and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintaining accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Being aware of children's individual needs, such as emotional support.

Requirements:

  • Professional Teaching Qualification (QTS) or significant TA/Tutoring experience.
  • Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH, or other additional needs.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to purchase one via Teaching Personnel.
  • Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10-year career history.
