We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team at Questech Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair, and installation of LGV and HGV vehicles.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Mechanics City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of 6 years of experience as a HGV Mechanic. You will also have previous experience as a qualified Fitter/Mechanic/Engineer and possession of your own tools.

In this role, you will work on a variety of LGV and HGV vehicles, using your skills and experience to diagnose and repair faults. You will also be responsible for accurately recording time to complete jobs and associated details, and for using your skills and performance to maximise workshop efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair, and installation of LGV and HGV vehicles
  • Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
  • Support workshops team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
  • Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details
  • Use of skills and performance to maximise workshop efficiency

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Motor Vehicle Mechanics City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a HGV Mechanic
  • Previous experience as a qualified Fitter/Mechanic/Engineer
