About the Role

At Ocado Group, we're looking for a skilled Product Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring our products meet the required national and international safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure products and systems meet appropriate safety and regulatory compliance requirements;
• Provide regulatory guidance and support to development teams and other key stakeholders;
• Plan and manage compliance activities, including periodic reporting to stakeholders;
• Conduct product safety evaluations and manage outsourced product testing and certification as required;
• Review existing and emerging legislation for potential impacts and propose compliance plans;
• Perform and coordinate hazard and risk assessments for new product designs;
• Compile and maintain technical files for certification and regulatory compliance;
• Review and approve safety-related information for manufacturing, end-users, and service personnel;
• Review and prepare compliance reports for product certification, regulatory bodies, and management as required;

Requirements

• Must be technically proficient in all areas of mechanical and electrical machinery safety;
• Experience interfacing with external regulatory bodies and certification agencies;
• Experience applying current European Directives and Standards pertaining to automated machinery and robotics;
• Experience achieving 3rd-party certification for products outside the EU;
• Ability to support mechanical and electrical design engineers in designing safety systems and safety architecture;
• Ability to lead task and design-based risk assessments;
• Ability to create system test and validation plans;
• Experience in completing EHSRs for machinery safety and providing a body of evidence for CE marking and regulatory compliance;

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of functional safety system design, including SIL/PL assessments;
• Knowledge and experience of EMC testing and compliance;
• Knowledge of compliance and certification requirements for radio products;
