The successful candidate will have previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment, with a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. They will be able to work effectively as part of a team, ensuring that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for.
The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for delivering meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit, under the direction of the Chef. They will also assist with the basic preparation of food items, ensuring that all cleaning within the kitchen, catering, and servery areas is completed and complies with our Assured Safe Catering standards.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for.
- Deliver meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit.
- Assist with the basic preparation of food items.
- Ensure all cleaning within the kitchen, catering, and servery areas is completed and complies with our Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Undertake any other duties as designated by the Chef or Cook.
