Class 1 Driver Job Description

Pro-Drive, a leading staffing and recruiting agency in the UK, is seeking experienced Class 1 Drivers to join their team. With a fresh and innovative approach, Pro-Drive delivers a sustainable, cost-effective, and efficient supply of temporary drivers and industrial workers to clients nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Transport Goods: Transport goods/products to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues.
  • Route Planning: Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, optimizing time and resources.
  • Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo properly, ensuring it is secure and undamaged during transit.
  • Communication: Communicate with clients, suppliers, and team members to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Record Keeping: Document and maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
  • Safety Guidelines: Adhere to Pro-Drive's safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the well-being of yourself and others on the road.
Requirements:
  • Valid License: Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a professional Class 1 Driver, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Road Safety: Strong knowledge of road safety rules and regulations.
  • Cargo Handling: Ability to handle various types of cargo.
  • Navigational Skills: Excellent navigational skills and familiarity with GPS systems.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical Stamina: Physical stamina to handle the demands of long drives and manual labour associated with loading/unloading cargo.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for documenting deliveries and maintaining records.
