Job Title: Mechanical Integrity Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Integrity Specialist to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Military Power Programs team in Cheltenham, you will play a critical role in supporting our swing shift operation and contributing to the introduction of leading manufacturing technologies and design for manufacture principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing manufacturing processes, including build manuals, control plans, and PFMEAs.
  2. Implement technical engineering changes and ensure product compliance through first article inspection to AS9102 requirements.
  3. Establish process capabilities and monitor to ensure the manufacture of repeatable products.
  4. Analyze processes and identify/report on activities that eliminate safety risks, improve quality metrics, and reduce waste using lean techniques.
  5. Investigate quality issues and operational bottlenecks to root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve flow.
  6. Ensure compliance of processes to relevant company and industry policies and regulations.
  7. Act as point of contact for the area of manufacturing facility, working with operational personnel to manage and implement improvements.
  8. Review new product designs for manufacturability.
  9. Review and update engineering procedures and/or quality standards following updates within the wider industry.
  10. Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to evaluate and purchase capital equipment.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent work experience).
  2. Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
  3. Experience with process control documentation and procedures.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  1. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  3. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical manufacturing processes.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills.
  5. Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements.
  6. Six Sigma awareness and Lean Manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
