About the Role

The Manchester Boys Club Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Estates Management to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our residential estates, ensuring that all aspects of estate management are carried out to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management
    • Prepare and review annual budgets for each estate, ensuring that they are approved and implemented on time.
    • Monitor and control expenditure, identifying any financial issues and implementing corrective measures where necessary.
    • Prepare regular financial reports for Directors and stakeholders.
  • Maintenance and Repairs
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive planned maintenance schedule for each estate, ensuring that all planned jobs are completed on time and contracts are tendered appropriately.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that standards are upheld and any issues are addressed promptly.
    • Manage the approval and appointment of all contractors.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to residents, tenants, and lessees, responding to correspondence and customer contact in a timely and professional manner.
    • Organize and lead meetings with Directors, residents, and other stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged.
    • Resolve any problems or complaints effectively and diplomatically.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to Directors and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and any areas of concern.
    • Ensure that all relevant legislation and regulations are complied with, including the Landlord and Tenant Act and RICS Code.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Degree in a relevant field, such as property management or surveying.
    • IRPM Part 1 qualification is essential.
    • Other property qualifications, such as RICS, are desirable.
  • Experience
    • At least 5 years of relevant management experience, preferably in estate management or a related field.
    • Strong experience of budget management, financial control, and delivering cost-efficiency.
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Skills
    • Excellent time management, prioritization, delegation, and project management skills.
    • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondence.
