About the Role

We are seeking a Planning Enforcement Officer to join our team in Braintree District Council. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with planning regulations and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and undertake site inspections to gather evidence.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including residents, councillors, and other teams within the Council.
  • Prepare and issue legal documentation, such as enforcement notices, and represent the Council at informal hearings and public inquiries.
  • Provide cover and support for other Officers within the team during periods of absence.
  • Assist with the administration of appeals, including related correspondence.

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have experience of working on a range of planning enforcement matters and a working knowledge of CPIA and PACE rules.
