Job Opportunity: Freelance Interpreters

We are currently seeking skilled freelance interpreters to work with various clients across the UK, including the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organizations.

About the Role:

  • This is a self-employed position that requires you to work on a flexible schedule with competitive rates.
  • You will interpret for individuals using legal, health and local government services, ensuring accurate communication between service users and providers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Interpret in-person, via phone, or video calls with high accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Liaise between service users and providers to facilitate smooth interactions.
  • Check non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence to ensure clarity.
  • Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting may be required.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and another language ( proficiency in multiple languages is an asset).
  • Citizenship or residency in the UK is necessary.
  • Aged 21 or over.
  • Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages are beneficial.
