Job Title: Associate Director of Planning

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director of Planning to join our team in Guildford. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and managing planning projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on planning matters to clients and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and policy representations.
  • Mentor and support junior planners, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, policy changes, and best practices to ensure the highest standards of service.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
  • Proven experience in a senior planning role, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in mentoring or managing teams.
