A Senior Finance Manager is required to join this education consortium during a very exciting time with a key focus on transformation and change. This client has a strong financial profile and as such is investing a significant amount of money around the software platforms, moving from a traditional reporting package to dashboard reporting.

This role would suit someone who is looking to take a number 2 finance leadership role and you will have experience of working within a role where you have been heavily involved in transformation and change across the finance and accounting processes and procedures.

This position will be an office-based position with no hybrid working but has excellent on-site facilities with the following market-leading benefits package.

Senior Finance Manager - About The Role

The position will be leading the finance team, reporting into the Finance Director to ensure robust financial controls are adequate, in addition to compiling the month-end reporting pack for the leadership team. You will play a key role in the infrastructure development including reporting and processing. This position would suit someone who is looking to take a step up facilitating a number 2 position or someone who is already working at a similar level. The role offers a suitable combination of reporting, operational and strategic involvement and you will be working in a collaborative working environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare the month-end reports to be presented to the Finance Director in readiness for the leadership team meetings.
  • Working as a business partner to the budget holders, ensuring accountability surrounding the variance results.
  • Manage and lead the budget process and implementing controls as required.
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies, working with the auditors (internal and external).
  • Oversee the transactional finance including purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury functions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that VAT and statutory returns are completed.

The successful Senior Finance Manager will have/be:

  • A formal qualification in finance with a minimum of 3 years' post qualified experience.
  • Experience of working within public sector or education would be highly desirable.
  • Excel knowledge to an advanced level.
