About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Static Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Lucite International. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of static mechanical equipment and packages, ensuring they are correctly installed in line with manufacturers' and design specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Global Strategic Projects, accountable for the technical integrity of static mechanical equipment and packages.
  • Approve Technical Bid Evaluations and recommendations on behalf of the project.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering contractors.
  • Assist in the identification, assessment, and selection of vendors for static mechanical equipment, both packaged and not packaged.
  • Ensure that technically robust and cost-effective equipment/packages are specified and procured, liaising with the correct process licensors and project team members.
  • Provide support to the plant commissioning team at the site.
  • Fully define quality requirements, appropriate inspections, test plans, and performance requirements for the equipment specification and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Significant static mechanical engineering experience in the chemicals or petrochemicals industry and complex industrial projects.
  • Degree Qualified (or equivalent) UK Chartered mechanical engineer.
  • Experience working across a wide range of complex engineering issues involving design contractors, process licensors, package and equipment vendors, and site representatives.
