Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at Finegreen. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial analysis and advice to budget holders across a defined range of budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Production of timely, accurate and reliable financial information in line with financial procedures and timetables;
  2. Supporting the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) in budget-setting and maintenance of a defined, large portfolio of services, relating to one or more Divisions;
  3. Liaise with other staff in the Finance Team to ensure production of timely, accurate and reliable financial information on a monthly basis;
  4. Provision of accurate and comprehensive monthly financial performance information (e.g. Finance Dashboards) for services within own area of responsibility;
  5. Provide financial information and advice to budget holders across a defined range of budgets in one or more Divisions, to support decision making by budget holders and within the Trust, referring appropriate issues to the Senior Financial Analyst;
  6. Undertake detailed financial analyses to support understanding of variances from plan, including use of non-financial information such as activity performance against targets;
  7. Support production of final accounts by adhering to Head of Statutory Accounts (HoSA) instructions relating to year end and the agreement of balances exercise;
  8. Support service managers and Assistant Director of Finance in the production of the business plan for the services by providing financial input as required;
  9. Provide complex financial analysis, interpretation and advice to services, to assist in decision making, for example, cost implications of changes in working practices;
  10. Ensure adherence to robust financial controls by budget holders within own area of responsibility;
  11. Support the Head of Finance in the implementation of Internal and External Audit recommendations;
  12. With support from the Senior Finance Analyst, to design excel spreadsheets - sometimes with complex functions - for financial reporting and analysis;
  13. Be able to explain complex financial information to non-finance managers;
  14. Deliver informal budget and financial management training to budget holders and other non-finance staff.
Requirements
  1. CCAB/CIMA qualified or equivalent experience commensurate with role;
  2. Experience of working in a finance team;
  3. Experience of working with financial systems and processes;
  4. Demonstrate experience in the analysis and assessment of financial and non-financial data;
  5. Detailed knowledge of financial aspects of one or more NHS services portfolios;
  6. Good analytical skills and ability to analyse and interpret data.
