**Job Title:** Town Planner

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our rural land specialist consultancy in Scotland. The role offers flexibility, with the option to work from one of our offices or as a fully remote position.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on rural planning projects from a consultancy, house builder, or local authority background. They will provide a comprehensive planning service, collaborating with our architectural and surveying teams, and support the process of obtaining statutory consents for developments across farm and rural areas.

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

Responsibilities:
  • Provide a comprehensive planning service, working alongside the architectural and surveying teams
  • Support with obtaining statutory consents for developments across farm and rural areas
  • Cover all phases of planning projects, providing accurate and timely advice to clients across the UK
  • Site assessments and feasibility studies
  • Preparation and submission of planning applications, also covering appeals and negotiations with local authorities or stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with planning legislation and policy changes
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or similar
  • MRTPI membership beneficial but not essential
  • Proven experience in a similar position focused on land and rural developments
  • Strong understanding of UK planning laws and regulations, including knowledge of agricultural and forestry permits
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car
