Job Overview:

Kenton Black is an established Earthworks Contractor seeking a talented Commercial Manager to lead the commercial management of projects in the UK.

About the Role:

  • As the commercial manager, you will be responsible for delivering commercial management of schemes, working closely with the project teams, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • You will have complete freedom and authority to manage schemes commercially, making strategic decisions to drive business growth and success.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports of commercial activities, including financial performance, contract variations, and claims.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to minimize risks and maximize returns.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the earthworks and civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management principles, contract law, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
