Job Description

Commissioning Engineer - Water Industry

J3A Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading organization within the water industry. A Tier 1 contractor who has achieved success throughout AMP 7 and aims to excel in AMP 8.

Due to a high workload and order book, they are seeking to employ an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their team and support a range of projects with budgets ranging from £3m to £5m.

For the right individual, they can take on a key role in highly rewarding projects with opportunities for career progression into senior roles within the organization over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review tender documentation in terms of design and commissionability, and prepare all necessary submission documentation in relation to commissioning and handover on tenders.
  • Assist in carrying out commissioning reviews at the design stage.
  • Review mechanical and electrical specifications, drawings, schematics, equipment selections, and technical submittals, and highlight any potential installation or commissioning issues.
  • Work with the Production Team and other subject experts to formulate a detailed and timed Commissioning Delivery Plan.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Work with Project Teams and Thames Water to generate Commissioning Plans during the Project Brief/Outline Design stage.
  • Establish robust commissioning processes and procedures that reflect the company and Thames Water requirements, and facilitate exceptional commissioning performance.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to provide technical expertise and deliver all commissioning activities.
Requirements
  • Previous commissioning experience within the water industry (mechanical, electrical, ICA works).
  • Ideal qualifications include HNC/ONC level, but open to experience.
  • Hold SMSTS/SSSTS qualification.
  • Suitable CSCS card.
