Job Title: Medical & Scientific Advisor - Final Signatory (Vaccines)

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical & Scientific Advisor to join our UK Vaccines Medical Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading medical affairs strategies, objectives, and activities for one of our therapy areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute medical activities that support the therapy area, including advisory boards, scientific meetings, medical education, and local evidence generation plans.
  • Drive UK medical strategy and plans, aligning with global strategies for the brand.
  • Become a therapy area expert, providing scientific advice to colleagues in GSK.
  • Provide clinical and scientific input into brand initiatives, working collaboratively with commercial, health outcomes, global medical, and R&D colleagues.
  • Advise on medical and ethical matters to support colleagues across GSK UK, including providing medical review and certification as final medical signatory.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the UK governance requirements (ABPI/MHRA) and company SOPs.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain strong relationships with key external experts, professional bodies, and patient advocacy groups to identify and address scientific and patient needs.
  • Provide oversight and support to investigator-led studies and named patient programmes.
  • Act as the Local Medical Lead for UK vaccine clinical studies, establishing the need and type of study and the UK requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a nominated Final Signatory or commensurate experience working in copy approval under ABPI guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A GMC-registered doctor or GPhC-registered pharmacist who is able to be a nominated final signatory.
  • Continuous record of career achievement in the life sciences industry.
  • A good understanding of the changing UK healthcare environment, especially in relation to implementation of vaccine programmes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Superior organisation skills.
  • Proven project management skills to lead and manage change projects.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, self-reliant.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  • Medical Affairs experience in a relevant therapy area.
  • Therapy area knowledge in infectious diseases, immunology, public health, vaccines, general medicine is desired but not essential.
  • Excellent understanding of medical functions and medical affairs activities.
