Transformative Biotech Company Seeks Skilled Software Engineer

About the Role:

Our client, a pioneering Biotech company, is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join their team. As a key player in their team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable, high-performance cloud applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust server-side logic to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness for both front-end and event-driven API requests.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and front-end developers to create innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to accelerating chemical discovery and transforming the landscape of materials science.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask), SQL, and ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy.
  • Knowledge of Kafka and/or RabbitMQ, and experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of object-oriented techniques and fundamental design principles & patterns underlying cloud applications.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, and familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment procedures and tools.
  • Strong experience with Docker, and proven experience participating in the scoping, design, and building of complex software systems.
  • At least 10 years of experience writing production-grade, high-quality code in industry.
  • Strong work ethic and growth mindset, and excellent written and oral communications skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of NoSQL, Graphs, and TimeSeries databases.
  • Startup experience, and familiarity with React & TypeScript.
  • Agile development methodologies, and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Knowledge of data science, chemistry, and the scientific process.
